Compensation: Fixed + commissions + stock options + generous benefits

About the role
As a Sales Account Executive leading our sales efforts in the United States & Americas territory, at Athenian you can expect to have a big impact on the business success and the growth of the organization.
You are expected to own & close deals, build & manage a sales pipeline, help to build a playbook, coach & help the future team focused on outreach, prospecting, and lead qualification.
You will have the opportunity to work alongside our highly skilled team to help execute the go-to-market & sales strategy and build a B2B sales organization from early stages.
You will be in a collaborative environment where you will work inside the sales team and collaborate closely together with the SBDR team, marketing, customer success and product management to maximize revenue from our target customer profile.
This is a fully remote position and no travel is required.
Responsibilities
- Successfully close new business through value-based selling to software engineering leaders as CTOs and VPs of Engineering
- Master the ability to evangelize the Athenian story and become a product expert
- Align Athenian solutions with prospect business objectives/needs, successfully manage and overcome prospect objections
- Cultivate, build and maintain strong client relationships—Provide a world-class prospect and customer experience through every interaction
- Build sales pipeline within specific geographies, market segments and/or campaigns
- Follow-up and develop new business opportunities within all market segments
- Collaborate effectively with the team and others to drive new business
- Proactively learn about our industry and the technology landscape to ensure you are a trusted resource to prospects and customers
- Help develop targeted lists, call strategies, and messaging to drive opportunities in regional areas
- Research target accounts, identify key players, generate interest and develop accounts
- Keep accurate records of interactions with leads in our CRM
Profile, Skills & Experience
- Tenacious hunger and relentless drive to win business and close deals, and perseverance to overcome hardships
- Demonstrated experience and success in a sales role, preferably B2B SaaS software sales selling to engineering leaders
- Ability to confidentially and effectively speak with prospects of all levels (including CTOs & VPs of Engineering)
- Experience in early-stage companies and/or built or was part of building an early-stage sales team before
- Experience in working in remote/work-from-home environments when collaborating with the team and meeting customers
- Ability to sell to multiple stakeholders during a complex sales cycle
- Experience with quota and commission compensation structure
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Highly organized and strong time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Self-driven, motivated, and results-oriented
- Proven success in penetrating new markets and closing new business
- Competitive, consistent over-achievement in past positions and in life
- Coachable and a willingness to learn and adapt, a passion for problem-solving, and constantly improving sales knowledge
- Understanding of software development field is highly beneficial
- Responsible and professional, independent, goal-oriented, proactive attitude
